“And so, after the disco as the sun rises, to chillout in relaxed surroundings we’ll go….’til dusk, when, like vampires, back into the night we’ll flow”
Radio 1’s Ibiza 2017 kicks off tonight and plenty has been written about the wild club scene that’s defined the island since Amnesia and Pacha opened their doors in the 70’s. When the sun is up before you get home, such a hedonistic lifestyle requires grounding in calm, comfortable surroundings, especially if you are lucky enough to be marooned on the island for the summer scene.
The style scene receives lesser focus, yet it’s African, Spanish and global influences ooze a Boho chic that brings some balance to the crazy lifestyle. Contemporary and rustic elements blend to create an understated yet exotic style, combining earth tones, natural fibres and aged woods that capture the island spirit.
TANIS has fast become an interiors store worthy of note since it opened in 2014. Located just before the village of Santa Gerude, you’ll find a curated selection of furniture, fabrics, accessories and lighting, in tranquil surroundings where you can sip coffee beneath a Peruvian Pepper tree whilst deciding what to buy. What makes TANIS special is the combination of interior design services, speedy bespoke upholstery (sometimes just 2 days) and globally influenced collection (above).
IBIZA INTERIORS boast of creating permanent style by bringing the best brands to the island. Their showroom, Casa Campo, is a clever little concept. Converted from stables into a work/residence by Amsterdam based Standard Studio for owners Jerjen and Selina – everything you see can be purchased and taken home (above + right).
KSAR LIVING is another interior design company whose services include interior design, architecture and their own range of bespoke furniture, which includes exotic handcrafted pieces, accessories and contemporary Italian design, merging creative style elements from around the world – signatures of Ibiza’s charm. Owned by designer Alberto Cortes whose creativity embraces cultural differences with an open-minded curiosity that is evident in his work (above).
See how the rustic features accept the modern pieces here. Mixing ages, styles and materials creates a really homely, welcoming vibe. What each space shares is an eclectic style that provides a real opportunity to let loose; to create a highly personal home with individual charm. Where else would you want to go for that Berocca?!
